6 Obvious Signs You’re Seriously Stressed Out

According to Health and Safety Executive’s report, ‘Work-related Stress, Depression or Anxiety Statistics in Great Britain’, 12.5 million working days were lost last year due to work-related stress, depression and anxiety.

With 526,000 workers suffering from mental strain, you’re likely to be a part of this staggering number. But how many of you actually talk about it? When was the last time you offloaded your fears role uncertainty, workload, lack of support, changes, bullying and more?

Not talking about it doesn’t hide the fact that you might still be stressed. In fact, you’re still likely to be showing various signs that indicate just how stressed you are.

Speaking to Healthista, Charlotte Watts, author of the De-Stress Effect, explained that stress symptoms can be linked to deficiencies that have physical signs, too. 

“Periods of stress use up most nutrients more quickly,” she said. “As our whole systems including energy, brain responses, hormones and immunity are all working at a higher and faster rate.”

These “periods of stress” can often lead to physical changes that are a giveaway. Think you’re coping well under pressure? Take a look at these signs. If a few or more relate to you, you’re probably more stressed out than you think: 

– Cracked lips, indicating a lack of Vitamin B6

– Teeth grinding (B5)

– White spots on your nails (Zinc)

– Constipation or diarrhoea (Magnesium)

– Bleeding gums (Vitamin C), raised spots on limbs (Vitamin E)

– Throat and chest infections
