Adventist Health System (AHS) has deployed Glytec’s eGlycemic Management System at nearly three dozen acute care facilities across seven states in the US.

As a result, 33 AHS acute care facilities across seven states are now utilizing Glytec’s solution for intravenous insulin optimization.

Adventist Information Technology vice president and chief clinical information officer Jackie Willis said: “We strive to deliver the best care possible, and this implementation is one way we are using technology to achieve that goal.

“Glytec is a leader in this space, and their solution allows us to enhance care for patients with diabetes and many others in need of intravenous insulin therapy.”

Implementation of the solution, which helps address the unique challenges of caring for patients with diabetes, includes single sign-on integration with the Cerner electronic medical record system and interfaces with lab, ADT and charting systems.

Adventist Health System clinical reliability vice president J. Michael Yurso said: “With nearly a third of hospitalized patients requiring insulin therapy during their stay, it is critical to focus significant attention on this very important aspect of care.

“As we continue to leverage best practices and innovation through our partnership with Glytec, we will increasingly improve care quality and outcomes, especially for the many patients with diabetes.”
