Thousands of healthcare professionals are today attending the UK’s biggest conference and exhibition for those working within the field of diabetes.
Diabetes Professional Care 2018 (DPC2018) is a two-day event that kicks off on Wednesday 14 November, which is also World Diabetes Day.
Taking place at London, Olympia, the Diabetes Professional Care conference has become a major annual event for healthcare professionals involved in the prevention, treatment and management of diabetes, and its related conditions.
Now in its fourth year, DPC is the UK’s only free CPD-accredited diabetes conference for healthcare professionals.
This year, childhood obesity is set to dominate the programme with the annual Live Debate being dedicated to the subject.
A series of high-profile names such as Professor Jonathan Valabhji, NHS England’s National Clinical Director for Obesity and Diabetes, and Dr Partha Kar, Associate National Clinical Director, Diabetes, also with NHS England, are set to present.
Diabetes Digital Media representatives will be in attendance to showcase the benefits of the award-winning Low Carb Program, which has helped more than 40% of people with type 2 diabetes eliminate a medication at the one-year mark.
Then on Thursday, Diabetes Digital Media Chief Executive Arjun Panesar will be talking about ‘Immersive learning: virtual, augmented and mixed reality’ and its implications for treating diabetes.
DPC2018 will also feature the return of the popular Hypo Hub, which includes a Hypo Simulator to show what it’s like for people with diabetes.
The DPC Industry Award winners will also be announced, which were launched for the first time earlier this year. They were developed – in conjunction with The Diabetes Times – to reward distinction shown by companies dedicated to improving diabetes care.
