To support the noninstitutional environment of its new hospital, Arkansas Heart Hospital Encore Medical Center traded large television screens in the first-floor lobby for original art—specifically, a 29.5-foot-by-8.6-foot wall screen. WDD Architects (North Little Rock, Ark.) collaborated with Yellow Goat Design (Chicago) on the custom creation, which comprises 100 “branch” elements in various shades of brass and chrome that are held in place by steel suspension cables. A blue backing and ceiling plate add a burst of contrasting color while LED downlights help illuminate the artwork. The installation was completed in early 2021.
