Patient engagement has been a core coverage area for MedCity News and our commitment to the topic was solidified when we launched our ENGAGE conference several years ago.

The conference has always received high marks from attendees for both its content and networking aspects. And now, as healthcare transformation and patient-centered care is top of mind, MedCity is bringing its 7th annual ENGAGE conference to a much-larger, new healthcare event that is aiming to be at the forefront of the conversation around innovation in healthcare : HLTH. Read our announcement here.

“We are extremely excited to collaborate with HLTH to bring MedCity ENGAGE to a larger audience,” said John Lerner, CEO of Breaking Media and MedCity News. “We were very impressed with what HLTH achieved in its first year, and we felt that combining our efforts to focus on the important topic of patient engagement was an incredible opportunity.”

ENGAGE at HLTH will take place on Monday Oct. 28 in the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. The broader HLTH conference spans Oct. 27-30 and organizers of the event have recently announced the first 100 speakers.

For those who didn’t attend HLTH last year, the event drew 3,500 attendees and scores of top CEOs and thought leaders. You can read up here on a mostly positive review. Full disclosure here: I attended HLTH 2018 as a moderator and MedCity also had a marketing agreement with HLTH last year. I was impressed at the attention to detail — flat shoes for women speakers offered as relief from their high heels; mint and even floss in the speaker ready rooms. The conference production was flawless. While the main conference room content brought in CEOs of top companies, who were at times slightly lacking on specifics of their announcements, the separate tracks were no-nonsense, deep dives into subject areas.

In that context of healthcare’s transformation, ENGAGE at HLTH aims to amplify the essential-but-oft-ignored patient perspective. It’s a message that leaders at HLTH are more than happy to get behind.

“Never before has it been so necessary – and so possible – to bring the voice of the patient into the conversation on how to improve health”, said Jonathan Weiner, Founder, CEO & Chairman of HLTH. “ENGAGE at HLTH will expose the challenges and spearhead the vision for how collaboration amongst health care providers, innovative startups, and other tech-driven solutions can improve patient outcomes, lower care costs and increase patient satisfaction.”

MedCity News will publishing an agenda shortly and like always, accept speaker applications. I hope to see you in Las Vegas in October, so don’t forget to register here for HLTH.
