Population health and chronic disease management are two of the crucibles upon which the success of the healthcare industry’s transformation through cost control and better patient engagement rests.

These are also two areas that have seen investment and attention from both traditional venture capitalists as well as provider and payer venture groups. To highlight the importance of population health and the innovation and investment that is occurring in the field, MedCity News is partnering with the New Orleans Business Alliance to host a summit in the Big Easy this spring.

INVEST Pop Health will highlight the efforts underway to transform population health and will take place on May 22 at the Louisiana Cancer Research Consortium.

“New Orleans is becoming a hub for digital health and population health innovation. Our city has bio innovation and educational assets that are competitive nationally and internationally.  The New Orleans Business Alliance is delighted to partner with MedCity News and national healthcare industry experts on a conference addressing technology’s ability to assist clinicians and others to address critical population health issues,” said Quentin Messer, Jr., president and CEO of the New Orleans Business Alliance. “We look forward to learning from experts attending this conference.  This conference is part of our ongoing efforts to improve lives of our friends and neighbors while accelerating the diversification of our local economy.”

INVEST Pop Health is conceived as a national event, similar to MedCity News’ other events, to bring attention to this very important topic. In that context, we are inviting venture capitalists, hospital executives, payers, life science companies and startup entrepreneurs from around the country to peruse the event agenda and submit to speak.

The summit will also feature 10 startups focused on chronic disease management and population health invited by MedCity News to present on stage — be they medical devices, diagnostics, digital health companies, or health services — and answer questions from investor judges. Based on their presentation and an audience poll, one of the 10 will be named 2019 INVEST Population Health Leader. If interested to present, please apply here.

See you in New Orleans and don’t forget to register here at the early bird rate.
