MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center (MFSMC, Baltimore) developed this project to consolidate their two separate surgical suites into one integrated department. The new pavilion faces east to a dedicated entry, drop-off, and parking lot to provide an easy and welcoming patient experience. It also ties directly to the recently constructed inpatient tower.
MFSMC’s existing Surgical Suites have reached the end of their useful life, and lack the basic space, equipment, and infrastructure to support the staff in the complex procedures done at the facility on a daily basis. This project includes major improvements to patient care, support, and administrative spaces to ensure that current and future healthcare requirements are supported. New surgical equipment, including lights, booms, and OR integration systems will improve patient and staff safety in the ORs.
