StartUPDATES: New developments for healthcare startups

PatientWing, a digital-platform startup, recently hired two employees – Alex Blackson and Stephen Worley – as it scales to match its rapidly increasing client-base and sponsored clinical trials. As the Product Manager, Alex oversees the growing technical development and support. Stephen, hired as the Marketing Manager, is focused on increasing brand awareness via content creation and digital media. Outside their roles at PatientWing, both Stephen and Alex are Venture for America (VFA) fellows.

“VFA is a two-year fellowship that places young entrepreneurs into startups across the nation, startups where you have the opportunity not only to see what it takes to run a company but build it and be a part of its growth. And now I have that exact opportunity with PatientWing,” said Stephen Worley, Marketing Manager of PatientWing.

“Through the program, we ended up receiving a higher caliber of staff,” said Zikria Syed, CEO and co-founder of PatientWing.

The company expects that with the new additions, it will be able to reach new clients and take on more projects than were possible before.

NeuroFlow has partnered with Genomind, a genetic testing and analytics company, on a platform integration bringing new patient data into the hands of clinical professionals. The application allows physicians to monitor patients’ genetic risks as well as the real-time progress of mental health treatment.

The collaboration will leverage NeuroFlow’s industry-leading mental health integration platform alongside Genomind’s mental health pharmacogenomics service. This novel partnership is intended to create a new standard in mental health care by providing patients and clinicians with actionable tools that support access to care, improve outcomes, and reduce costs in mental health treatment.
