Elon Musk just can’t escape controversy. The man he called a pedophile is suing him. He smoked weed on air, forever burning this image into our brains. The SEC sued him for fraud because he couldn’t resist a 420 joke, which cost him $20 million, his company another $20 million, and his chairmanship of Tesla in the settlement.
But he’s a busy guy! Life moves on! Passion projects must be pursued! And thus we have learned Musk’s Tesla filed a trademark for “Teslaquila,” a Tesla-branded tequila.

The application, filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Monday, describes a trademark for “distilled agave liquor” and “distilled blue agave liquor,” CNBC reports.
It should be noted that this all started as an April Fool’s joke, in which Musk tweeted Tesla had gone bankrupt, forcing him to drink is sorrows away with “Teslaquilla.” Dark.
The trademark application is only the first step in a long process, so there’s no way of knowing if Teslaquila will ever be available to drink for us consumers—though Musk tweeted Friday it was “coming soon.” But Musk is a multi-tasker to the extreme.

Chances are he’ll be packing Tesla Roadsters with Teslaquila bottles and shooting them into the cosmos toward Mars before the year is out. Anything to distract himself here on Earth, it seems. Despite all the proof that Musk is indeed a bad person, the fervor for Teslaquila will probably be as intense as it was for those flamethrowers.
