Ingredients:

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease an 8 x 8 glass baking pan with coconut oil or line with parchment paper.

Blend drained beans in a high-speed blender or food processor, and add all other ingredients until combined (except for chocolate chips and walnuts).

If you don’t have a food processor, blend beans in a blender and then combine all ingredients by hand in a large bowl, mashing together with the back of a fork or potato masher.

You want the consistency to be as smooth as possible. Add in chocolate chips and walnuts, and stir to combine. If you need to, add a few teaspoons of warm water or plant milk until it’s thin enough to combine. However, it should be thick, yet spreadable.

If you ask us, chocolate is a food group.

Spread into greased or parchment-paper lined baking pan and bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Let sit for around one hour to set and firm. After that you can set your black bean brownies in the fridge to further firm, or serve warm if you prefer.
