Construction workers hoisted the final beam for the new Dwaine and Cynthia Willett Children’s Hospital in Savannah, Ga. According to the story from WJCL TV, officials at the new stand-alone children’s hospital signed their names to the final roof beam along with several special guests. The construction effort began in 2014 and reporter Dave Williams confirms that the hospital will feature 50 beds, an 18-bed pediatric emergency room, and four operating rooms specifically for children.

“Even though the beam signing and raising represents significant progress in the construction of the children’s hospital,” writes Williams, “there’s still a long ways to go probably another 12 months or so, it’s expected to be completed sometime in the final quarter of 2020.”
