98point6, a Seattle-based startup, has announced its on-demand primary care platform is available in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., according to a news release sent to MedCity. The company also posted the announcement on Twitter:

The company was founded in 2015 and officially launched its platform last year.

Any individual 18 or older (with or without health insurance) can download the 98point6 app. A personal plan is available for an introductory rate of $20 per year. The company also offers employer-sponsored plans.

Here’s how the tool works: First, the app uses AI technology to gather details about the patient’s symptoms. The platform utilizes machine learning and automation to take care of administrative questions and ask about the patient’s history.

A board-certified doctor will then review this information. He or she can assess any symptoms, diagnose health issues and answer questions via in-app messaging (which also has photo and video capabilities that can be used if necessary).

After the interaction, the patient’s care plan is available in the 98point6 app. Any prescriptions can be sent to a local pharmacy.

The nationwide availability announcement follows 98point6 wrapping up its $50 million Series C round in October. The Merchant Banking Division of Goldman Sachs led the round, and existing investors participated. At the time, 98point6 said it planned to use the money to grow its product and physician teams, expand its platform capabilities and move into new markets like health plans, health systems and higher education.

The Seattle startup said it has raised a total of $86.1 million since its inception.
