Officials at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La., are gearing up to renovate the acute care hospital’s pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and intensive care unit (ICU). Plans call for adding a new 10-bed adult ICU, while relocating and upgrading the six-bed PICU. Future plans for the project include renovating the kitchen, cafeteria, and dining room. Patient room improvements, equipment/tech improvements and sterile/clean space renovations are also planned. Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System (owners) announced the project in early August 2019.
