Vibe at ViVE: Health tech executives share new developments at inaugural conference

HLTH’s inaugural conference ViVE in partnership with CHIME in Miami Beach March 6-9 marked a welcome return to in-person conferences after two years of virtual events due to the Covid-19 pandemic. In a series of video interviews with healthcare executives, MedCity News VP and Editor in Chief Arundhati Parmar gauged their impressions of the conference and they shared new developments with their respective businesses.

HLTH

Richard Scarfo, HLTH President, explained the difference between its fall conference HLTH and its latest conference ViVE as well as what sets them apart from other healthcare conferences, particularly in terms of its core audience and networking offerings. He also offered a sneak preview of the upcoming HLTH conference November 13-16 in Las Vegas.

314e Corp.

Health IT software business 314e Corp.‘s COO Alok Sharma talked about the company’s transformation into a product driven company and some of the tools it unveiled at the conference. Sarah Richardson, SVP and CIO of Tivity Health and a member of 314e’s Advisory Board, shared why her organization came to work with 314e.

Komodo Health

Dr. Arif Nathoo, CEO and co-founder of Komodo Health, observed that the best way to understand healthcare is by modeling disease across the country. Komodo takes data on health outcomes and pushes it into software to study disease burden at scale. Its tech can be applied to payers, providers, and life science companies to deliver better outcomes for patients. Nathoo shared what sets his company apart from the rest.

Olive

Olive is focused on automating the manual work of healthcare through machine learning, spanning revenue cycle management to utilization management. Dr. Jeremy Friese, president of the payer market, shared a description of its prior authorization use case.

Carevive

Carevive is a health tech business with a focus on increasing patient and provider engagement and improving the patient experience. It was founded by oncology nurses Madelyn Herzfeld, who serves as vice chairman, and Carrie Stricker, an Associate Professor with the College of Nursing at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.

In an interview at ViVE, CEO Bruno Lempernesse talks about how the company’s  software helps care teams to personalize treatment decision-making and standardize symptom assessment when patients are in “active treatment” and in the survivorship period.

CVS Kidney Care

Lisa Rometty, President of CVS Kidney Care offered an update on its in-home hemodialysis device in clinical trials and the need for more innovation in chronic  kidney disease.

McKesson Ventures 

Michelle Snyder, McKesson Ventures Partner, discussed how the Covid-19 pandemic has impacted its investment strategy, particularly in areas such as value-based care and chronic disease management.

Hutman Media

Rachel Ford Hutman, the founder and CEO of Hutman Media, shared her take on how companies should prioritize their marketing spend, particularly the need to stand out from competitors.
